Products and availability
We make reasonable efforts to describe and display each product accurately. Ghee may naturally vary slightly in colour, aroma and texture between batches or with temperature. Products marked coming soon or out of stock cannot be purchased. All orders remain subject to availability.
Prices
Prices are shown in South African rand. Maha Ghee is not currently VAT registered and does not charge VAT. The complete retail price and delivery charge will be shown before you approve payment. Wholesale pricing is available separately to approved trade customers. Pantry Pool pricing is a separate personal-use group offer and is not wholesale.
Pantry Pool group orders
Private Pantry Pools use one jar size and one group order. Request 1–24 jars; the current case price applies to 12 or more jars of the same size: R185 per 500 ml jar or R335 per 1 litre jar. Smaller quantities use the current single-jar price. Sizes cannot be mixed to reach the case price. Delivery and protective packaging are confirmed separately before invoicing.
Start a private pool through your verified Maha profile. We confirm the group quantities, delivery and invoice total with the captain before issuing one group EFT invoice. Individual members need not register; each pays Maha directly using the invoice number plus their name and emails proof of payment to gheemailme@gmail.com. Reconciliation is personally assisted. Cleared bank funds, rather than proof of payment alone, establish payment. Dispatch follows full payment verification. Monday at 12:00 is the cleared-payment cutoff for Wednesday dispatch. Public town pools and automated split-payment links remain closed.
Referral profiles and reward credit
When you complete checkout, we may create an email-linked Maha customer profile and personal referral link for you. Current ordinary referral and private pool captain rewards are 2% of eligible product sales after discounts, excluding delivery and refunds, and become available after dispatch. Private pool credit includes the captain’s own jars. Credit accumulates across eligible orders. Credit is awarded once after actual dispatch. The captain is explicitly linked to the group order; each sale receives either captain credit or ordinary referral credit, never both. Rates and eligible amounts are saved per order, preserving existing earned or promised credit. Cancellations reverse credit and partial product refunds reverse credit proportionally. The captain sees limited group progress; other members’ emails, payment references and proofs of payment are private.
Ordinary self-referrals do not qualify; the captain’s own jars are included in private pool credit. Credit connected to cancelled, refunded, reversed or abusive transactions may be withheld or reversed. Jars shared is an activity count, not additional credit or a free-jar threshold. The displayed rand balance is the credit you may request. Credit is personal, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Credit is never spent automatically. Open your private profile link before checkout. If you have available credit, checkout offers a credit review for the same profile email. Pending credit cannot be used. A request does not reserve or deduct credit. We confirm the current amount before sending your invoice; requesting review pauses automatic invoicing.
Placing an order
You are responsible for checking the products, quantities, delivery selection and contact details before paying. An order is accepted once payment has been successfully confirmed and we issue an order confirmation. We may contact you if an item becomes unavailable or information is incomplete.
Payment
Orders currently use EFT invoicing. Place your order to receive an invoice by email, then pay using the bank details and reference on that invoice. Dispatch follows verification of cleared payment. Card payments are not currently available. We do not store complete card details.

Food and allergen information
Maha Ghee begins as butter. Our traditional process cooks away virtually all moisture and lactose, caramelises the milk solids for flavour, and filters those solids out to leave near-pure butterfat. Many people who are sensitive to lactose find ghee easy to enjoy. Because butter is the starting ingredient, milk is declared as an allergen on the product label.
Acceptable website use
You may use this site for lawful personal or business purchasing and enquiries. You may not interfere with the store, attempt unauthorised access, submit false information or reproduce our branding and content for commercial use without permission.
Errors and interruptions
We may correct genuine pricing, stock or content errors. If an error materially affects a paid order, we will contact you and offer an appropriate correction or refund. We do not promise that the site will always be available without interruption, but this does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
South African law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including applicable consumer and electronic-transactions legislation. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
